The Need
The Illinois Soybean Association (ISA) aimed to expand new markets for soybeans by launching the Soy Innovation Center (SIC), a digital-first headquarters that supports innovative projects unlocking new uses for soy.
ISA had a unique opportunity to hold a launch event at the Union League Club of Chicago, but there was a catch: we only had two weeks to make it happen!
Our Execution
We developed the visual identity for the SIC launch event, all within a two-week turnaround. Working in close collaboration with ISA’s communications team, we produced key deliverables, including brochures, event collateral, letterhead, and more.
Farming imagery is subtly layered into the identity through background and texture images. A bright green was added to the color palette, along with a gradient for texture.
This unique campaign was an opportunity to establish soy as a leader in sustainability. We positioned soy as a non-toxic renewable alternative to products containing petrochemicals or other compounds of concern and showcased the many possible options for sustainably produced goods.
The Results
ISA leveraged the launch to develop deeper relationships with other ag tech players, including developing a relationship with Airable Research Lab, which provides early-stage soy-based materials research.
This event also jump-started relationships with universities to get researchers, professors, and students thinking about soy as a sustainable solution for product development. These relationships will continue to grow and expand as the SIC progresses.
Since the launch, the SIC has funded three inaugural projects, with plans for expansion.
